We are now very close to the inauguration of the first, historic TEDx, entirely organized in Mirandola.
The edition, entitled Matters of Life, will focus on the value of life, its celebration and protection, all aimed at a greater awareness of it.
This is the central topic that unites the edition of TEDx and all the realities of the Biomedical district, including G21, which appear as partners and supporters of the initiative, along with the Municipality of Mirandola, the Technopole TPM Mario Veronesi, Confindustria Emilia, UNIMORE and many other realities.
The doors of the Rita Levi Montalcini auditorium in Mirandola will open on Saturday, July 3rd, to an audience that will attend the conference live, marking a starting point for post-pandemic social activities.
Nine speakers will take turns on stage, all coming from different backgrounds and sectors, who will have the “task” to talk about life and its branches, from their point of view, ranging from more technical and innovative topics to more current and emotional ones.
In detail, the nine speakers will be:
Massimo Dominici: Full Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Director of the Cell Therapy Laboratory and of the Complex Structure of Medical Oncology. He is founder of research laboratories and innovative startups, member of numerous international scientific societies and foundations. Elected the first non-American president of the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy, he has been selected in the 2020 power list of the one hundred top global opinion leaders in the field by The Medicine Maker. His talk will focus on the evolution of cell therapies, from the earliest generations to today’s fifth generation.
Norma Cerletti: She is the most famous English teacher in Italy, with her community “Norma’s Teaching”, founded in 2020 on social channels offering free English mini courses. She learned English with perfect pronunciation in the United States in her fourth year of high school, and on June 15th, 2021, is the release date of her first book. At the heart of her TED Talk is the idea of how mistakes are fundamental in our lives to excel, and also to learn English.
Maurizio Reggiani: Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Lamborghini, member of the Board, Director of Research & Development, head of the Squadra Corse, Motorsport division of Automobili Lamborghini, he is in charge of the development of long-term strategies, technologies for body and chassis, powertrain, suspension and electronics. At TEDxMirandola he will talk about the present and the future of electric supercars.
Rita Cucchiara: Full Professor of Information Processing Systems at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, head of the AImagelab laboratory, specialized in artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning of the European network ELLIS, she is also Director of the National CINI Artificial intelligent and Intelligent Systems Laboratory, head of the Red-Vision laboratory and NVIDIA AI Technology Center and coordinator of the working group on artificial intelligence for the Ministry of University and Research. She will talk about the frontiers of artificial intelligence and what is next to us in the years to come.
Chiara Malavasi: Professional dancer, she has been dancing since she was 4 years old. She studied at the English National Ballet School in London, one of the most prestigious academies in the world. Although life has confronted her with moments of great pain, her determination has allowed her to achieve excellence and perform in the best European theaters. Her TED Talk will focus on how she managed, despite the difficulties, to never give up her dream of life.
Alessia Cavazza: Assistant Professor at University College London and native of Mirandola, she leads a team of researchers at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in gene therapies for the treatment of pediatric rare genetic diseases involving the immune system. She will talk about rare diseases and the importance of treating and caring for each life.
Alessandro Bergamini: Photographer, author, traveler, he was awarded at the National Geographic Italy Contest 2015, he travels the world to photograph the beauty of peoples and humanity, he is part of the Great Photographic Journeys team and accompanies groups of photographers and enthusiasts. The protagonist of his TED Talk will be the Atlas of Humanity, a celebration of the beauty of the diversity of peoples.
Elisabetta Aldrovandi: Lawyer, President, and co-founder of the National Observatory for Victim Support, she is Regional Guarantor for the protection of crime victims for the Lombardy region, professor of Criminology and Victimology at Limec in Milan and member of the hearings in the Justice Committee of the House and Senate. He will talk about how to never accept any form of violence against women and children, and how to defend oneself.
Greta Tosoni: Sex coach and certified sex educator, she began as a photographer and artist and then co-founded Virgin & Martyr, an association dedicated to the creation of safe places – online and offline – in which to disseminate and allow discussion on issues of sexual education, of social-emotional and digital. At TEDxMirandola she will accompany the audience in the rediscovery of the boundaries of sexuality, through the concept of acceptance today.
